Getting messy with paintGoslings Playgroup is a committee run pre-school playgroup that offers sessions for children from 2.4 years depending on their date of birth.

Founded in 1991, Goslings Playgroup originally opened in St. Ippolyts Village Hall. In 1993 we moved to our current location; a purpose-built building located within the grounds of Whitehill Junior School, Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Goslings are Ofsted registered and are able to accept 26 children at the playgroup at any one time. Goslings have an experienced team of 12 staff and the majority hold appropriate early years qualifications. Our adult to child ratio allows generous care and attention to be given to all children

Goslings are registered on the Early Years Register and are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

Access is provided for children and adults with disabilities and the Playgroup supports children with learning difficulties or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language.

Our overall aim is to provide a happy and caring environment, enabling each child to learn through play. We provide a balanced and well-planned curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage which builds on a child's experiences.

What do Ofsted think?
Leadership and management are good. Self-evaluation is effective because the staff team continually monitor and evaluate the learning and development requirements. Consequently, they quickly identify any gaps in children's learning.
