Goslings Playgroup is a committee-run pre-school playgroup that offers sessions for children from 2.4 years depending on their date of birth.

Founded in 1991, Goslings Playgroup originally opened in St. Ippolyts Village Hall. In 1993 we moved to our current location; a purpose-built building located within the grounds of Whitehill Junior School, Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Goslings are Ofsted registered and are able to accept 26 children at the Playgroup at any one time. Goslings have an experienced team of 9 staff who all hold appropriate early years qualifications. Our adult to child ratio allows generous care and attention to be given to all children.

Goslings are registered on the Early Years Register and are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance. We receive support and funding from Sure Start and North Hertfordshire District Council.

Access is provided for children and adults with disabilities and the Playgroup supports children with learning difficulties or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language.

Our overall aim is to provide a happy and caring environment, enabling each child to learn through play. We provide a balanced and well planned curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage which builds on a child’s experiences.

What do Ofsted think?
The playgroup is led and managed well – all children are welcome and fully included in activities. All children are well cared for, happy and settled and make good progress in their social development and towards becoming independent learners. As a result children, want to attend and enjoy learning.
